What does the Historic Chicago Bungalow and Green Home Expo have for me?
The
Expo offers advice and resources for bungalow owners and other Chicago
homeowners and homebuyers. With more than 140 home restoration and
energy-efficiency experts, tradespeople, companies and organizations,
there's something for everyone.
Originally organized exclusively for the owners
and potential owners of Historic Chicago Bungalows, the Bungalow Expo
was first offered in 2002 and brought together more than 50 exhibitors and
2,000 visitors to Harold Washington College. For four years, Bungalow
enthusiasts shared their experiences with their neighbors and new
friends at the Expo while visiting with various trades people, banks,
lenders, artisans and craftsmen. In 2006, the Historic Chicago Bungalow
Association furthered their partnership with the City of Chicago's
Departments of Environment and Housing, along with dozens of sponsors,
to expand the Expo to include products and services with a green
focus – and the Historic Chicago Bungalow and Green Home Expo was born.
2007
Thanks
to everyone who made the 2007 Historic Chicago Bungalow and Green Home
Expo an extraordinary success. Once again, the event drew more than
9,000 home rehab enthusiasts to Chicago's famed Merchandise Mart. Mayor
Richard M. Daley joined headliners Bob "The House Doctor" Yapp and WGN
Radio's "Mr. Fix-It" Lou Manfredini to discuss current green building
trends and celebrate Chicago's Historic Bungalows. Download the Resource Guide from the 2007 event, or visit the gallery to see pictures from the Expo. Click here to see a list of 2007 exhibitors.
