Past Expos
History of the Expo
Originally organized exclusively for the owners and potential owners of Historic Chicago Bungalows, the Bungalow Expo was first offered in 2002 and brought together more than 50 exhibitors and 2,000 visitors to Harold Washington College. For four years, Bungalow enthusiasts shared their experiences with their neighbors and new friends at the Expo while visiting with various trades people, banks, lenders, artisans and craftsmen. In 2006, the Historic Chicago Bungalow Association furthered their partnership with the City of Chicago's Departments of Environment and Housing, along with dozens of sponsors, to expand the Expo to include products and services with a green focus – and the Historic Chicago Bungalow and Green Home Expo was born.
2009
The 2009 Historic Chicago Bungalow and Green Home Expo was a huge success, thanks largely in part to our extraordinary exhibitors, headliners and workshop leaders. A special thanks goes to our sponsors, whose dedication to Chicago home restoration and renovation is unsurpassed. Over 8,000 visitors perused the 143 exhibitors, ranging from arts and crafts furniture and tiles to energy efficient appliances, resoration services and financial experts. In addition, Headliners Kelly Edwards of GHTV's "Design on a Dime", Bob "The House Doctor" Yapp and WGN Radio's "Mr. Fix-It" Lou Manfredini shared their expertise with the crowd.
