Green Bungalow Blocks

The Historic Chicago Bungalow Association uses its three Green Bungalow Blocks for two reasons: to bring energy-efficient rehab to Bungalow homeowners and to educate residents through the city on what products and techniques are available for green rehab.

Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Awards

Each year, the Historic Chicago Bungalow Association and the Richard H. Driehaus Foundation honor homeowners whose work demonstrates the best bungalow landscaping, rehabilitation and restoration projects. Learn more >>

Historic Districts

The federal designation not only confirms the historic importance of these unique Chicago homes, but also provides property tax relief for Bungalow owners in the designated districts who spend an amount equal to 25% of their home's value for rehabilitation. Learn more >>

Bungalow of the Month

Each Chicago Bungalow has its own story and unique architectural details. The bungalow of the month series showcases a bungalow or bungalow block and traces the history of the home or development from its date of construction to the present. You might also get to take a peek into individual homes.

EXPO

This annual event brings together all the resources owners or potential owners need to purchase, restore or rehab a bungalow. Learn more >>
