I just wanted to let you know Glen and his crew did a GREAT JOB with winterizing my home. I actually noticed a big difference this morning in the kitchen area since this is the coldest room in the winter and hottest in the summer. We haven't gotten into the winter chill yet, but I noticed the kitchen was not as cold since the temperature dropped last night.  Thank you so much for helping me with the approval of the grant.

I wanted give a HUGE thank you to HCBA and DnR Construction.  The Energy Savers application process was seamless and the construction team that performed the work was stellar.  Tom M. conducted the initial assessment and stated that his office will be in touch to do the work on the best day for me.  The crew arrived promptly on the scheduled day and completed the work before the time that they stated! I am looking forward to an increased savings on my energy bills.  I would suggest applying for the Energy Savers Grant to anyone who owns a bungalow!

Thanks for providing the much needed support with maintaining our Chicago Bungalows. The grants provided are a great help before and when unexpected expenses arise. I have been fortunate enough to have received the grant several years ago. Rick of DNR Construction and the Energy$avers grant saved me hundreds of dollars over the past two (2) years on heating and cooling expenses. Please continue to provide the many grants and services you provide. Together we can keep the Chicago Bungalows Standing and Energy Efficient.

Dear HCBA,

     I have been a member for ten years. I have been a homeowner for over 25 years. I have had almost every imaginable kind of workman banging away on the inside or outside of my home. Most fall short of promised expectations. A few meet them. But almost none exceed them. That is why this past week’s experience was so exceptionally happy.

     We were able to qualify for your Energy Savers Grant and have insulation installed to our bungalow. The entire process: from administrative paperwork with Emily Burns; the contractor doing the walk through from DNR, Tom McElherne; and the crew lead by Andy who came out to do the work made the process surprisingly efficient and beautifully done.

     I cannot commend Andy and his men enough. They arrived promptly and were very respectful. They communicated with me whenever a question arose. I could not have anticipated insulation looking so beautiful. They did a masterful job, on a day when the heat index was above 100! They worked a steady nine hours in the crawl spaces and attic, and left the house spotless. I cannot say enough about their professional work and kind demeanor.

     Thank you for helping my family and me live in a better home, and as importantly, reinforcing a belief in people and your mission.
