The existing bungalow backyard yard was minimally landscaped with invasive plants. Over a 4 year period and having researched the importance of native plants, Abigail removed turf grass and planted hundreds of native plants in her backyard. She also raised vegetable beds, installed rain barrels, and a compost bin. Abigail completed her sanctuary with a mission-style fountain, pergola and hammock from where she can observe the scores of pollinators and birds that visit daily
