Project Description

The Gordons purchased a 1914 bungalow that had gone through a series of patchwork remodels. In the front half of the house, the original floors had been covered with carpeting and linoleum tile, the woodwork had been painted over so many times it was hard to discern where the wood ended and plaster began, much of the original wood molding had been replaced by contractor grade baseboard, and two art glass windows above the fireplace had been covered by a faux brick wall. Using a contractor to execute his restoration plans, Michael stripped and refinished the original oak floors and replaced all the trim and molding with red oak. Once the faux brick wall around the fireplace was removed, the historic art glass windows were restored and custom built-in shelves were installed.
