Multi-functional Finished Basement

Joshua and Kelly had four goals in mind for their basement rehab: a full lavatory, workout space, office area, and room to entertain. Joshua chose a pared-down industrial design that wouldn’t falter under the natural stresses of basement climate and flooding. He power-washed paint from the brick walls, painted the ceiling dark blue, and dyed the concrete floor to match. For the new full bathroom, he repurposed a wood door found in the attic, then frosted and stenciled the glass before installing.
