Project Description
Rampant Ivy Removal
When Margie finally found her bungalow after a two-year search, it came with a challenge: remove the ivy covering three sides of the house! The previous owner left ivy to grow wild all over the brick and even in through the windows, allowing hornets’ nests to form and other bugs to enter. Knowing that ivy damages historic masonry by pumping in moisture, she started removing it two days after closing on the house. Then, she gave the garden a much needed makeover, with new organic soil, native perennials, solar-powered lights, and stepping stones allowing her to easily access the plants for care.
