The original garage of Craig and Laurie’s corner bungalow was a safety hazard with foundation problems and a rotting roof. To redo the traditional garage construction would be costly, so Craig being an AIA architect and contractor, reconstructed it to match the original using unconventional and less costly methods. The roof tiles are original, but the brick façade is actually a thin-brick veneer installed over a rain screen system and wood frame. The historic approach blends with new features like French doors and complimentary landscaping to make it a unique focal point for the street.
